Southeast Asian Biotope | Wild Bettas, Rasboras & Gouramis

Southeast Asian Biotope Aquarium Botanicals – a thoughtfully curated collection of aquarium and bioactive enclosure botanicals inspired by the forests of Borneo, Sumatra and West Java in Southeast Asia. From the floodplains of the Mekong River to the peat swamps of Borneo, these botanicals echo the habitats where many of our favorite fish species call home.

Each botanical in this collection is sustainably sourced from the forests, wetlands, and woodlands of Southeast Asia. Every piece is hand-washed, air-dried, and packaged with care to ensure the highest quality for your aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.

While these botanicals were selected with Southeast Asian species in mind—think Bettas, Rasboras, and Gouramis—their ecological benefits extend to all fish and invertebrates across the globe. You don’t have to maintain a strict biotope to enjoy the functional benefits of these botanicals. Your shrimp won’t mind if that chunk of Kiriwel Bark is technically from Sri Lanka instead of the backwaters of Thailand.

Build Your Ecosystem

Aquarium botanicals have varying levels of durability, which is predictive of the leafs waxy coating and the seed pods woody composition. All types are equally important to the botanical aquarium as they build different layers of the ecosystem.
