This product contains Calcium + Nutrition, Calcium + Immunity, and Calcium + Protein. This calcium-fortified food helps to kiss slow growth, failed molts, and weak shells goodbye. This food not only supplies calcium, but provides dozens of other essential vitamins and minerals such as Vitamins A, C, K1, B6, iron, and phosphorous for optimal nutrition.

What animals eat them?

  • neocaridina/caridina shrimp
  • all aquatic snails (mystery/ramshorn/rabbit/all!)
  • plecos
  • any fish that loves to steal bottom-feeder food!

There are two different types of calcium in each jar, ensuring all crustaceans have a varied and complete diet. These nutrition tablets provide ample vitamins and minerals to baby shrimp, snails, and grown adults, making them perfect for breeding colonies.

  • calcium deprivation (nearly ALL aquarium inverts are calcium deprived)
  • weak, damaged shells
  • failed molts
  • premature death

  • breeding
  • healthy growth
  • strong beautiful shells
  • a healthy, fulfilled ecosystem - just like mother nature intended

Is this a food or a supplement?

  • The nutrition tablets are a staple food for your aquatic creatures!
  • They do not dissolve in the water and will be consumed by your aquatic creatures.
  • Protein + Calcium is a supplement focused on macronutrients for your shrimp, while Immunity and Nutrition focus on micronutrients.
  • Can be fed every day!

How are they red and green?

  • 100% naturally colored
  • Whole spinach provides green coloration
  • Whole beets provide a red coloration

Commonly Asked Questions:

1) Will Botanicals Lower The pH Of My Water?

It entirely depends on your water's chemistry. Soft water will allow the botanicals to lower your pH more than if you have medium or hard water. At Betta Botanicals HQ our tap water is Very Hard, ( 350+ppm) and we do not notice a change in water pH unless using Alder Cones or Macaranga Leaves.

2) What Are The Fluffy White Growth On My Botanicals?

White growths are the colonization of biofilms and fungi. We call this the 'goo phase' and it is totally natural. Botanicals are fuel for the ecosystem and the populations of bacteria and fungi will naturally rise and fall.

3) I Don't Keep Bettas. Will These Botanicals Be Okay For My Critters?

100% yes. Our botanicals are for aquariums, terrariums, vivariums, and all natural enclosures wishing to recreate a more natural environment.

4) I Have Goldfish and Axolotls, What Botanicals Should I Avoid?

We DO NOT recommend using botanicals that these fish can ingest. Botanicals like casuarina cones, small alder cones, and live oak are not suited for these animals. Large aquarium leaves like Indian almond, loquat, and jackfruit leaf litter are preferred.

5) When Should I Replace My Aquarium Leaves?

We recommend letting aquarium leaves and seed pods entirely break down into beneficial detritus. You can absolutely remove them after they don’t release tannins anymore, you just won't get all potential benefits of leaving them in the ecosystem.

my shrimp love it!

god this variety pack and my shrimp love it! one liked it so much it took a whole pellet and kept it for itself! great for berried mamas too!

Fouls water

My shrimp won’t finish this and don’t seem to like it much. Snails won’t touch it. And it fouls the water before the 12 hour mark when it’s suggested to be removed.

Hi! We are very sorry to hear that your shrimp did not like this product and that it has fouled the water before it's recommended 12hr use window. I have noted this issue with the manufacturer. Thank you for being a continued customer with us! -Ben

Shrimp crack!

My Amanos act like heat seeking missiles when I drop these into my community tank. The only shrimp food I use now.

Skrimps love 'em!

i love watching my amano hold these like giant saltine crackers, just going to town on them. if i drop these on one end, they'll zip across the tank to come grab 'em! the snails love getting in on the action too.
