Peruvian Blackwater Botanicals - South America

Peruvian Blackwater Botanicals – a curated selection of botanical materials for the biotope aquarium and bioactive enclosure sourced from the heart of the Amazon Jungles. The place where many hobbyists fall in love with blackwater ecosystems.

Each botanical in our collection is carefully sourced from jungles of Peru in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest. Each item is hand-washed, air-dried, and carefully packaged, especially for your blackwater aquarium or your bioactive enclosures for dart frogs.

While these botanicals were sourced with South American fish in mind–think tetras, rams, plecos and corydoras–these materials will benefit all fish. We 100% endorse utilizing a Sapucaia pod with your betta fish, they won't know they are 9,000 miles in the wrong habitat.

Build Your Ecosystem

Aquarium botanicals have varying levels of durability, which is predictive of the leafs waxy coating and the seed pods woody composition. All types are equally important to the botanical aquarium as they build different layers of the ecosystem.
